Saturday Morning was a trip to finalise a suit fitting for my up and coming wedding, also took my son for his fitting. We were 30 minutes late because we had a car malfunction; well it blew up in a cloud of oil and smoke. The gearbox gave up. Luckily it was a loan car from an organisation I can’t mention, however the initials are GCS. Still guessing, you’ll never get it.
Got the shop and was then sent to the warehouse, “hello what’s your name” “Wyatt” “oh yes your late so we will get to you as soon as possible” I explained that I did phone the shop and said we were running 30 mins late. There was a family with five boys ranging from teens to a four year old getting their suits. The mature couple running the warehouse were getting them through the fitting at a good pace. “Come along Timmy, haven’t you been a good boy, well done, how does this feel, OK” it all reminded me of a TV show, suit you sir, how about this sir, are you sure sir, ooh sir. At least mine was a final fitting and only had to try on the trousers. My son was going through the “suit you sir” moments and all seemed to be OK. I gave the measurements for two other suits we require for my brother in law and father in law, who are in Germany and unfortunately won’t get to try them on before the event. I do have this image of Danny deVito dressed as a penguin in the batman film as my father in law has a similar figure, but taller, just can’t get it out of my mind.
I believe this will be the first time both of them have dressed in tails as it is not the custom in Deutschland. I paid the balance and set off home. Another task ticked off the list.
